• Q.U.E.S.T. Identification Process

Scotch Plains - Fanwood School District is committed to equitable access for all students. As such, student eligibility for Q.U.E.S.T. is reviewed annually for all students using multiple measures and grade-specific criteria. The annual review process begins with data collection in the spring and concludes in September of the new school year, when an electronic notification is sent to ONLY the parents of students who have met the criteria for eligibility. Once a student enters the Q.U.E.S.T. program, the student may continue participating in the program each year through 8th grade. Students entering grades 6-8 can also nominate themselves for the Q.U.E.S.T. program by creating and presenting a portfolio of their work demonstrating their talents and abilities. Portfolios are reviewed by a committee of teachers and district administrators.  Students may be invited to a brief interview with the committee to share personal reflections on their work.  More information about the Self-Nomination process is available from the Q.U.E.S.T. teachers and counselors at the middle schools.
