A warm, friendly atmosphere in the classroom and in the school is essential If:

• students are to learn to the maximum of their capacity;
• teachers are to do their best;
• good relations with the community are to be upheld, and
• the total school operation is to be carried on in the best manner possible.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE STUDENTS
The students attend school so that they may develop their individual capacities to the fullest and become, for their own benefit and that of others, the best people that it is possible to become.  To do this, the students should:

• make a sincere effort to do their best work;
• develop standards of personal conduct that are reflected in socially approved behavior;
• respect the rights of others;
• comply with the authority of teachers and administrators;
• obey school rules and regulations, those made both by the school authorities and by the student governing body, if appropriate;
• be regular and punctual in meeting all school obligations;
• dress appropriately and maintain habits of personal cleanliness;

                                                          and

• help maintain school property free from damage and defacement.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PARENTS
Good discipline originates in the home because the parent is the first teacher of the student.  It is the parent's obligation, by teaching and by example, to develop the student's good habits of behavior as well as proper attitudes toward the school.  To help the student progress in school, a parent should:

• talk with the student about school activities, share with the student and with the teacher an active interest in report cards and in the progress of the student;
• arrange for prompt and regular school attendance and comply with attendance rules and procedures;
• safeguard the physical and mental health of the student and be responsible for a periodic health examination;
• attend individual or group parent conferences;
• attend special school programs;
• arrange for a time and place for homework assignments and supervision of them;
• interest of the student;
• encourage and guide wholesome friendships, interest and activities;                                                 
• and, understand and comply with the rules of the school concerning student conduct and cooperate with the school in carrying out disciplinary action taken by the school.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE TEACHER
Teaching involves providing a stimulating and effective program of instruction and establishing and maintaining an atmosphere conducive to learning and to the development of sound social attitudes and habits.  The teacher, with the assistance of the administration should in this cooperative effort:

• approach assignments with enthusiasm and regard students as worthy individuals working with them in a mutual endeavor;
• plan and conduct a program of instruction that will make each child eager to learn and which will enable each student to achieve full potential;
• manage classroom routines so that they contribute to the total instructional program and to the development of civic responsibility on the part of the student; teach the child what is expected in terms of conduct in and about the school;
• enforce the rules of the school system and of the school courteously, consistently, and justly;
• inform parents, in accordance with the school procedures, about the academic progress and the general deportment of their children;
• distinguish between student misconduct that should be handled by the teacher and that which requires the assistance of the administration; 
• be sensitive to the behavior of all students in the class and alert to characteristics or changes which may indicate a need for assistance;
• report promptly any situation in or around the school that might encourage undesirable behavior;
• be conscious of professional ethics in relationships with fellow teachers and with administrators.
